What Is an Issue Affecting Teenage Girls in Today’s World?

Question by Jacob: What is an issue affecting teenage girls in today’s world?
I work at a treatment center for teenage girls and am attending college. I’m having trouble finding a research topic for a paper and would love some ideas. I am interested in ways to help my clients specifically and would like to do my paper on a topic regarding them. Here are some basic topic ideas to help inspire you:

1. Drug abuse among teenage girls – how does it start?
2. Sexual abuse – does it happen just because they’re girls or…
3. Racial considerations (though there isn’t a lot of support for this… maybe you have an idea for a sub-topic that few people have touched on)

I’m looking for something new. So, if you have a bee buzzing around in your head about a topic that nobody has really written about, I’d love to research it and write a paper on it.

maybe you could research why it is that so many females are murdered, is it because woman are less equal than men?

Not sure how you would turn it into a research topic, but one of the pressing issues I see working in the school is the “mean girls” phenomena, and specifically the impact of cyberbullying. Perhaps a study on the efficacy of different approaches to dealing with bullying. Again, not sure how you’d quantify it, though. Might be better suited to a qualitative study, unless you’re just writing a lit review.
