Question by Mirack Obomney 2012 FK UR RIGHTS: If the DEA is now hiring “Ebonics translators”, isn’t it time to just end the federal war on drugs?
This is goddamn ridiculous. Why doesn’t the U.S. legalize marijuana (which currently accounts for 60% of illegal Mexican cartel revenue as an illegal narcotic) then decriminalize the hard drugs (crack-cocaine-meth-heroin etc.) and treat hard drug addiction as a public health problem instead of a criminal problem??

ATLANTA – Federal agents are seeking to hire Ebonics translators to help interpret wiretapped conversations involving targets of undercover drug investigations.
The Drug Enforcement Agency recently sent memos asking companies that provide translation services to help it find nine translators in the Southeast who are fluent in Ebonics, Special Agent Michael Sanders said Monday.

Oh, but I do. I also know the history of alcohol prohibition and how it nearly destroyed Chicago because it made Capone’s criminal organization so well funded and able to buy off politicians etc. (Similar to current day Mexico). Blanket prohibition doesn’t work. It just doesn’t. Anyone who thinks it does is living in fantasy land. Drugs are as old as civilization. It’s time we treated adults like adults.
