I applied for a job with a Police Dept in Arizona. However I failed the Polygraph section. In an attempt to be completly honest I admitted to experimenting with a narcotic once in 2004. AZPOST rules no hard drug use within 7 years. So now if I re-apply in 2011, what are my chances of being hired since I have nothing to hide?

I didn’t try drugs to increase my chances of being hired, it was a mistake I comitted that is keeping me from being hired. I am wondering when the time limit is over and I admit my mistake if I will have the opportunity to hired in the future?
