Will I Go to Jail for Possession of Marijuana?

Question by : Will I go to jail for possession of marijuana?
I live in South Dakota and was arrested for possession (ingestion). It is my first offense and first time being arrested. I know they can give me 1 yr and a 1000 dollar fine, but realistically, what will happen to me? Should I get a lawyer?

Your going to get probation and a fine.

You should probably get a lawyer. It’s highly doubtful that you will go to jail unless you had it packaged for sale. A lawyer will hedge your bets. It will cost you a bit, but it beats going to jail.
