Motivational Interviewing – Motivational Interviewing is an evidence-based method of communication for supporting behavior change. This introductory webinar session, presented by Gateway Foundation Alcohol & Drug Treatment, introduces you to the concept and principles of Motivational Interviewing. The webinar will build upon participants’ interviewing and counseling skills by teaching how to make a realistic assessment of a client’s motivation for change. It outlines models to increase effectiveness with clients who are resistant to change. You will learn specific techniques to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence in order to make behavior changes.
